wal-mart goes green

Global warming can shave up to 20 percent off the world's annual GDP by the end of the century. On the bright side, it will only cost 1 percent of the world's annual GDP to avoid the damage, if we act now.

And Wal-Mart started acting now (finally i read something +ve abt wal-mart in print)
Wal- Mart has recently started offering its workers business cards that are about half the size of the old ones. On the back of the card, Wal-Mart explains its reasoning: The new format uses 50% less paper.

BTW Wal-mart prints 9 million business cards a year

Wal-Mart has also opened two pilot stores that were built with recycled material and use renewable energy sources like solar, wind and recycled vegetable oil.Wal-Mart is going to start replacing the fluorescent lights in its refrigerators, for example, with more efficient alternatives
